When a customer underpays a crypto invoice
A payer sends less than the invoice asked for. Nothing about that is unusual — wallets round, fees get deducted, people mistype — and how it is handled decides whether you lose the sale or the money.
Unheld reports the exact amount that arrived rather than rejecting the payment. Further transfers to the same invoice accumulate against it, so a payer who was short can top up and complete the same order instead of starting again.
Overpayment is the mirror image, and direct settlement changes what it means: the surplus is already on your own address, because the money never passed through us. There is no balance to reclaim and no refund queue to join — what you do about the difference is between you and your customer.
