Crypto address checker

Paste an address to see which family and format it is, whether its checksum holds, and which networks Unheld settles on for that family. This is a format check from the same validators the platform uses: nothing is looked up on any chain and nothing you paste is stored.

Check an address

What is checked, and what is not

Checked: whether the string is a well-formed address of one of the families Unheld settles on, which format it is in, and whether its checksum holds. The checks are the same validators the platform uses when it issues and audits addresses.

Not checked: whether the address holds anything, whether it has ever been used, and who owns it. A format check cannot answer those, and this page does not try. The address you paste is sent to the checker and discarded.

Questions about this checker

Which address formats does the checker recognise?

EVM hexadecimal addresses (with or without an EIP-55 checksum), Tron base58check T addresses, Bitcoin native SegWit and Taproot bech32 addresses and the older base58 styles, and XRP Ledger classic r addresses.

Can it tell which EVM network an address belongs to?

No, and nothing can: the same address is valid on Ethereum, Base, Polygon, BNB Chain and Lisk. The network a payment should travel on comes from the invoice.

Does it check the balance?

No. It reads the format only, from the same validators the platform uses, and stores nothing.
